National Reconciliation Week 2025 at SustainHealth Recruitment
National Reconciliation Week was a time for reflection, education, and action. Held annually from 27 May to 3 June, the week marked two significant milestones in Australia’s reconciliation journey—the 1967 Referendum and the 1992 Mabo Decision. This year’s theme, “Bridging Now to Next,” invites everyone to acknowledge our shared history and work together to build a better future grounded in truth, justice, and respect for First Nations peoples.

Reconciliation begins with understanding and is strengthened by inclusion. We are committed to ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander professionals feel welcome and empowered to thrive, whether placed in healthcare roles or joining us as part of our SustainHealth team.
Our concept of reconciliation is a continuous commitment through how we work and support people every day. We are committed to supporting cultural understanding and equitable opportunities across the healthcare sector.
Our Role in Reconciliation
We believe reconciliation is about action. That’s why we:
- Connect healthcare professionals to placements in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and remote clinics
- Encourage culturally safe care through inclusive recruitment and education
- Celebrate and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates and colleagues
- Commit to ongoing learning, acknowledging that reconciliation is a shared responsibility
- Build partnerships that reflect mutual respect and community need
This National Reconciliation Week, we reflect on our shared past, recognise the progress made, and reaffirm our commitment to walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in creating a stronger, more connected future.
