At SustainHealth, Recruitment with Heart starts with our own people.
Our team took part in a Walk & Check-In Session, pairing up with a colleague, stepping away from our desks, and heading outside for a relaxed walk and a conversation about how we’re really going.
Sometimes the most meaningful conversations don’t happen in a meeting room. They happen over a coffee, on a walk or when someone simply takes the time to ask, “Are you OK?” and genuinely listens to the answer.
Why R U OK? Day Matters
R U OK? Day is an important reminder that checking in with the people around us shouldn’t be limited to one day of the year.
In busy workplaces and particularly across healthcare, where people spend so much of their time supporting others, making space for our own wellbeing and looking out for one another matters.
For our team, the Walk & Check-In was about connection. No presentations, no formal agenda — just time to talk, listen and strengthen the relationships we have with the people we work alongside every day.
It’s a small initiative, but one we hope encourages conversations that continue well beyond R U OK? Day.
