SustainHealth Celebrating International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the achievements and contributions of women while creating space for conversations about leadership, opportunity and equality.
In Australia, the International Women’s Day 2026 theme, “Balance the Scales,” focuses on creating a future where every woman and girl can be safe, respected, heard and free to shape her own future.
At SustainHealth Recruitment, we marked International Women’s Day by bringing our team together and hearing directly from women whose experiences represent different parts of our healthcare recruitment community.
Hearing From Women Across Our Community
This year, our International Women’s Day celebration featured a special series of conversations with women from within SustainHealth and the healthcare sector.
Our Founder and Director, Kay Reynoldson, shared insights from her own leadership journey and experience building SustainHealth Recruitment. Her perspective provided an opportunity to reflect on women in business, leadership and the importance of creating opportunities for others as organisations grow.
Our Head of Finance also shared her experiences and perspective, bringing another voice from SustainHealth’s leadership team to the conversation and highlighting the different pathways women can take throughout their careers.
Importantly, we wanted the discussion to extend beyond our internal team.
One of our healthcare candidates joined the conversation to share her own career experiences and perspective as a woman working within healthcare. We also heard from one of our clients, providing another valuable viewpoint on women in healthcare workplaces and leadership.
Together, their stories gave our team an opportunity to hear from women working across different roles, career stages and areas of the healthcare sector.
Creating Space to Listen and Learn
Healthcare is a sector where women make an enormous contribution every day. For SustainHealth, International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise not only the women within our own business but also the nurses, midwives, aged care professionals, healthcare leaders and other professionals we work with across Australia.
This year’s internal event was centred on conversation. Hearing personal experiences directly from our speakers encouraged our team to consider what empowerment can look like in different careers and why creating opportunities for women to share their perspectives matters.
It also reflects a wider message behind International Women’s Day 2026: meaningful progress is supported when women have opportunities to participate, lead and shape their own futures.
